On February 1, Christof Ludwig assumed the management of all BPG USA business units as President and CEO. He succeeds David Liess, who managed Bertelsmann’s printing businesses in the USA for the past three decades with great success.

GGP Media printed the German edition of Michelle Obama’s memoir “Becoming.” During the production phase, the strictest safety precautions were in force at the Pößneck site. In the U.S., the home market, printing was also handled by Bertelsmann Printing Group companies: Coral Graphics and Berryville Graphics.

Four Gold, three Silver and one Bronze – this is the impressive result of the Bertelsmann Printing Group USA at the 2017 FSEA Gold Leaf Awards. US unit sales of ebooks in 2015 fell 13% but print units rose 2.8% to 653 million, according to Nielsen Book Scan, largely due to the strength of Adult Coloring Books! Coloring books don't work well as ebooks.

American bookshops carry between 20,000 and 120,000 titles — so the more eye-catching a cover is for buyers, the better. With the capabilities it offers, BPG subsidiary Coral Graphics Services makes a good first impression with readers.

Two new printing inks developed by graphics experts of BPG USA ensure final results of a much higher quality in the offset and cold-set process. And they show that not all printers are the same.
